"Roshan & The Santana Tribute Band" was formed in August of 2004 at the request of the Honolulu Mayor's Office of Culture & The Arts. Roshan had performed for them for years with various bands and the coordinator said, "You play Santana so well, if you put together a band playing just Santana we will definitely book you."

So Roshan formed the group & immediately played Tamarind Park for the Mayor's Office, and also started performing at Latin Music festivals & other venues in and around Honolulu - following in the footsteps of his other Latin Music band "Picante".

The main goal of Roshan & The Santana Tribute Band is to capture the spirit & fire of Santana. Their arrangements are sometimes very close to the original, but often grow and change to suit the talents and personalities of the musicians, and the mood of the current time. This is in keeping with Santana's vision of the music being a living, evolving entity that needs room to breathe and evolve.

When the band transmits the energy and beauty of the music out to the audience and the crowd reflects it back to the band - that is the ultimate - as band, audience, dancers, and music become one exhilarating experience of the moment.
